Chairman's message It has been a great honor for me to serve as Chairman Sundas Development Organization for the last so many years. During the period, the Foundation has faced many challenges, achieved tremendous goals and has obtained good results. It indeed gives me a great degree of satisfaction as well as pride once I see the performance of this welfare organization in serving the humanity ever since its inception

Sundas Development Organization is looking far beyond the horizon by introducing an Awareness and Prevention Program at a national level to prevent and eradicate the deadly Thalassaemia and Hemophilia blood disorder from Pakistan. I appeal to you all to come forward and join hands with me in promoting our noble cause to help the humanity.

Introduction

Sundas Development Organization is a right based, gender sensitive, service delivery organization, with Islamic values and is engaged in providing services to the widows, needy, deserving destitute and helpless people especially in the area of health and relief since 2003. The organization since its establishment has been serving in the above marginalized sections of the society through its various programs covering Education, Physical and Mental Health care, free Legal Aid, prevent Child Labor, Provisions of Food, Water, Clothing and other necessities of life.

LEGAL STATUS

Sundas Development Organization started working in Pakistan in 2003 and was registered with the Directorate of Social Welfare as a Voluntary Social Welfare Agency under Registration and Control Ordinance, 1961 on April 07, 2008, got registered with Citizen Community Board under [SBNP] Local Government Ordinance (Ordinance No. 98 (I) of 2001 on September 05 2008 and also got registered with Joint Stock Companies and Societies under Society Act XXI of 1860 under Registration No. 1414/5/5745, on December 18,2008. Since its inception the office has successfully implemented many relief and development projects in the sectors of Health, Disaster and Emergency Relief & Response and Financial support in Pakistan particularly in the province of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa.

APPROACH

Sundas Development Organization (SDO) is operational in Pakistan to achieve sustainable social and economic development in collaboration with the local communities, government and other partner organizations. This integrated participatory approach generates greater ownership of the programmes implemented.

STRATEGY

Sundas Development Organization work focuses not only on addressing ongoing humanitarian priorities (emergency and development), but also addressing the underlying causes of the poverty. The underpinning factor behind the SDO's activities is to support the strengthening of the communities' capacity to directly take up their issues. SDO also ensures that its activities are integrated into the greater national frameworks of other members of civil society and the Government of N.W.F.P and the Federal Government. SDO is mainly focusing on health and education. Particularly District Mardan and in the areas where conflicts, droughts and poverty have left the population highly vulnerable.
